Dear Excellencies, Consuls and Friends,

We have the pleasure to present the Greek Cultural Guide of the Consular Corps which we created  and produced entirely on our own initiative.

"Our Guide " aims to be a useful guide for you to plan in advance your weekends and holidays.

We hope that through this Calendar you will be able to get to know Greece better, its history, the traditions and gastronomic delicacies of each place and that it will motivate you visit some of these events and meet the local people.

The preparation of this Guide has been done without burdening our Corps financially in any way.

In order to obtain the information required to compile this calendar, we contacted all 1,033 municipalities in Greece. Unfortunately as only 40 responded we decided to contact each Prefecture separately to obtain more information. Finally enough information was received for us to list and describe 140 different cultural festivals. This number can be translated into more than one event from each Prefecture.

It has taken us an entire year and great deal of effort to gather the information, select the best events, edit and translate them all.

We do hope that the outcome will meet with your expectations and that our Calendar will prove to be a practical and useful guide.

We look forward to your feedback and your comments for festivities you may attend.
